The genocide I chose was the Armenian Genocide. This genocide was between the Armenians and the Turks. This was the first genocide of the 20th century. The natural enclosure genocide was made up by Raphael Lemkin in 1943. In April of 1915, the Ottoman government started the killings of the civilian Armenian population. In 1915, the Armenian population of the Ottoman State was reported at rough two million. An estimated one million had perished by 1918, while others had change by reversal homeless and stateless refugees. By 1923, nearly the whole soundly Armenian population disappeared. Armenians were killed by Muslim Turkey in the inhumane, evil and brutal ways. Infants were thrown in rivers or caught by a spear. I believe this genocide occurred because the Armenians were Christian and the Turks practiced Islam, so they discriminated against Non-Islams. Before the genocide occurred the Armenians had to pay discriminatory taxes and were denied on any participation in the government. Another reason I believe this event occurred was because the Turks p! enuryed the Armenians trim back.
